Patricia Ann Hunter, age 79, passed away on Friday, June 2, 2017, at Cleveland Metro Hospital after a short illness.
The daughter of Robert and Betty (Branch) Olin, Pat was born on May 8, 1938, in Ashtabula. She was a graduate of Edgewood High School and Kent State University, Ashtabula, where she received her degree as a Registered Nurse.
Pat was employed for twenty years with the Ashtabula County Nursing home, serving as Director of Nursing for the majority of her employment. She was also the proprietor of the Breezy Inn of North Kingsville.
On March 2, 1956, Pat and Joseph Hunter were united in marriage and together they created a loving and accepting home for friends and family. Their thirty-eight years of marriage gave them memories to last a lifetime.
Pat was an inspiration to many; she and her late husband, Joseph, were founding members of Board #169 which was the beginning stage for development of Happy Hearts School. She was also a member of ARC and was actively involved with parents of developmentally challenged children. Pat was actively involved with PERI, devoting much of her time to protecting the benefits of Public Employee Retirees.
In her free time, she enjoyed dinner with friends, traveling with her sisters, Judy and Nancy. Karaoke Parties with her family, and going to the casino with her beloved twin grandsons, Bryan and Brandon. Pat enjoyed arranging flowers and especially loving her Boxers.
She was an active member of the Elks, Moose, Red Hat Society, Orion Chapter of OES, and American Legion Auxiliary in Florida where she lived for three months of the year
Pat's greatest pleasure came from being with her family. The time that she spent with them gave her many cherished memories.
Pat will be remembered for her work ethic, her indomitable spirit and her love of friends and family.
Pat is survived by her beloved children, Robert Hunter, Rebecca (Gary) Holt, and Jeffrey (Camii) Hunter, all of Ashtabula; her cherished grandchildren, Bryan Nelling and his fiancé, Yesika Aude, of Kent, Ohio, and Brandon (Ashley) Nelling of Ashtabula; sisters, Judy Breedlove and her fiancé, Rich Soltis, and Nancy (Gabby) Harden, both of North Kingsville; and loving nieces and nephews.
