Raymond Edwin Carberry Jr., passed peacefully with his family at his side on March 12, 2017, at age 84.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Pauline Ross Carberry, and his two daughters, Valerie Carberry and Kathleen Carberry Skestos, and his grandchildren, Julius and Diana Skestos.
Born June 30, 1932, to Raymond and Mary Carberry in Conneaut, Ohio, Ray, as he was known to his friends and family, graduated from Conneaut High School in 1950. He earned his Bachelor's of Science from Kent State University in Kent, Ohio.
He served two years in the United States Navy and was a Veteran of the Korean War.
He married Pauline Ross in 1957 and went on to earn his Masters of Business Administration also from Kent State University. The couple moved to Columbus, Ohio, in 1962 where they both pursued work in education and invested in real estate while raising their two daughters.
Ray worked as a school social worker and teacher until he retired in 1995 to manage his properties full time.
He was a devoted fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and both he and Pauline enjoyed watching Saturday afternoon football games. He will be remembered most as a loyal husband and loving father whose bright blue eyes and sparkling sense of humor shined everywhere.
Funeral Services were held Thursday, March 16, 2017, at SCHOEDINGER FUNERAL HOME at 6699 N. High St., Columbus, Ohio 43085.
