Pastor Robert William Endruschat, age 86, was called to the loving arms of Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, April 9, 2017.
The son of William R. and Helen Sophie (Unverzagt) Endruschat, Bob was born in Buffalo, N.Y., on April 15, 1930.
Bob was a graduate of Wittenberg University receiving his Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1951 and was later graduated for The Lutheran Theological Seminary of Philadelphia with a Bachelors of Divinity Degree in 1953.
On May 17, 1952, Bob and Louise Dellwig were united in marriage, their marriage was one of great faith, love and admiration. They created a home that nurtured their sons, Robert and John.
"Pastor Bob" was called to serve at Trinity Lutheran Church of New Haven, Conn., as Assistant Pastor in 1953, and was made Senior Pastor in 1957. In 1968, he was called to the Board of Publications for Lutheran Churches of America, of which he later served as President of the Board, Editor of Fortress Press, Executive Vice President of Augsburg Fortress Publishers for the Evangelical Lutheran Churches of America, and was President of Protestant Church Owned Publishers Association.
After he retired from his pastoral duties, Bob and Louise joined Christ Lutheran Church of Cape Coral, Fla.; after his second retirement, Bob and Louise moved to Harwich, Mass., and became active members of St. Peter's Lutheran Church.
Bob was also very civic minded and was President of the Rotary Club of New Haven, Conn., and a member of the Union League of Philadelphia.
Bob is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Louise Endruschat; his sons, the Rev. Robert (Charlene Moorish) Endruschat of Florida and John (Pamela Jordan) Endruschat, with whom he and Louise made their home, of Orwell; five loving grandchildren; and many loving members of his former congregations.
Pastor Bob will be remembered for his love and devotion to the Lord and to his church, his love of family and friends.
Memorial Services will be held at Christ Lutheran Church, Cape Coral, Fla., at a later date and time to be announced.
Memorial Services at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Harwich, Mass., will be held on May 16, 2017.
It was Bob's wish to be scattered at sea.
