Andrew D. Monda
Andrew D. Monda, 92, of Avon, Ohio, entered into eternal rest Thurs., Nov. 14, 2019 at Ames Family Hospice, Westlake, Ohio. He was born Sept. 28, 1927 in Ashtabula, Ohio and has lived in Avon since 1963, moving from Sandusky and Painesville. He was employed by B.F. Goodrich Tire and Rubber in retail sales working in Painesville, Sandusky and finally in a store in Elyria for 27 years. He was an active member of St. Mary Of The Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Avon, where he was a Eucharistic minister, a member of their Holy Name Society and involved in the church's Cursillo group. He was involved with the Avon Senior Center not only as a member but also with their transportation program and as the the medical equipment coordinator. He was a member of Avon Fitness and started and organized the Avon Heart Walk. An avid lover of music, he was a member of the Sing-A-Long group through the Avon Seniors Ctr., visiting local nursing homes. He also played guitar and saxophone.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years: Iris S. (nee Pearson)(Formerly Breehne); Children: Andrew D. Jr., Michael, Frances (Jesse) Martinez, Nick (Patty), Mark (Tina), Pat (Janice), Pete, and Mary (Mike) Haught; Step Children: Charlene (Richard) White, Charles (Bev) Breehne, and Janette (Keith) Johnson; Grandfather of 20 and Great-Grandfather of 22. He was preceded in death by his first wife: Cora D. (nee Moloney); Great-Grandson: Tyler; and siblings: Mary, Sam, Anne, Joe, Cosie, and Louise; Parents: Louis and Josephine (nee Pavalino) Monda.
Family will receive friends Tues., 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the MISENCIK FUNERAL HOME, 36363 Detroit Rd., Avon, where closing prayers will be Wed. 9:15 a.m., followed by a 10 a.m. mass at. St. Mary Of The Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Avon. Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Avon. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 1689 E. 115th St., Cleveland, OH 44106-3988.

RIP and God Bless you, Andy. My grandparents Joe and Marge Campagna loved you very much and I was lucky to have known you through them. You were one of the most compassionate and loving people that I have ever known, and you will be missed dearly.

Andy was always a friendly/gracious person. I have missed seeing him at the fitness center. Always had a positive attitude, regardless of how he was feeling. I will miss him!
