Colebrook Township, Ohio - Barbara Ann Ray, age 87, passed away at her home on Wednesday, February 21, 2024. She was born on November 13, 1936 in Windber, PA the daughter of John J. and Julia Ann (Smakula) Tallion. Barbara married Joseph J. Ray on October 27, 1956. She was a retired business owner and a member of St. Mary Church, helping with the children's bible school, preparing meals and working at the rummage sales. She thoroughly enjoyed going to garage sales, sewing and knitting. Barbara is survived by her children John Matthew (Debra) Ray, James J. Ray, Gregory M. Ray, Joseph C.S. (Nineth) Ray, grandchildren Olivia, Joseph, Ashley, Rachel, Meghan, great grandchildren Finley, Baylee, Brooklyn, Emilee, several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents John J and Julia Ann Tallion, husband Joseph J. Ray, brother John Tallion, sisters Elizabeth Cook and Patricia Cutson. A memorial service officiated by Rev. Kevin McCaffrey will take place at the Paine Funeral Home, Inc., 140 E. Main Street, Orwell, OH 44076 on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 3:00 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. The family has asked that you make memorial contributions instead of sending flowers to Daughters of Mary, 103, N.
