Bill Jones
Bill Jones died peacefully from unexpected natural causes on November 13, 2019, his 62nd birthday, in Geneva, Ohio. Bill was born on November 13, 1957, in Painesville, Ohio, as Patrick Thomas Borger, the son of C. Thomas and Arlene Borger (née Marcel). He grew up there and graduated from Thomas W. Harvey High School in 1976.
After traveling for several years in his 20s, Bill settled in Ashtabula County, most recently in Geneva-on-the-Lake where he lived with his beloved dog Mutt. Bill was an eccentric and well-regarded member of his community; he is fondly remembered as kind, trustworthy and hard-working with a dry sense of humor. He will be missed.
Bill was preceded in death by his father Thomas and brother Michael.
He is survived by his mother Arlene, his sisters Diane (Giuliano Zampi) and Joan (Gene Waddell) and his brother Scott (Meredith Rutledge); seven nieces and nephews Eric, Olivia, Francesca, Alexander, Alessandro, Nicholas and Michael; and five great nieces and nephews, Xavier, Oscar, Freya, Thomasina and Viktor.
Donations in remembrance of Bill Jones may be made to the Ashtabula County Animal Protective League.

I am so sorry to hear of Patrick's passing. Growing up, his family and mine spent a lot of time together. Great memories of hedlund beach and time spent hanging out at the fire department with our dads. Love & prayers to the Borger family.

His parents were friends with mine, I remember playing with him on Valley View, in the basement, when we were kids. Lost touch with the family as we grew and I am so sorry for your loss

I always saw Bill walking his dog past my front window everyday. I didn't know him personally, but just often saw him around Geneva. He would always gesture a hello and seemed very kind. I am very sorry that he has passed. May he rest peacefully with the Lord. I will miss seeing his familiar face in the community and seeing him walk his dog everyday. I hope Mutt has a safe new home.

I would like to thank some of the people I have met since my brother passed. Many thanks to Alan, Joe, Tom B., Brendan, Douglas at Dollar General, the ladies at the Andover Bank and many more. Your friendships with my brother and your genuine kind words and stories warmed our families hearts. Thank you so much. It has eased our souls knowing he knew such wonderful people.
