Carl William "Bill" Swanson of Ashtabula Oh passed away peacefully with his family by his side Wednesday March 12, 2025. Born on August 11, 1938 to the late Glenna H. & Carl G. Swanson in their house on the east side of Ashtabula, he grew up playing in the Gulf with friends and his (late) brother Eugene (Georgia). Married the love of his life, the (late) Joyce A Henderson in June of 1962. He used to say "I met a pretty blond girl and followed her to Kent State and the rest is history". He received his Masters Degree and taught Industrial Arts in Buckeye Local at Wallace H Braden Jr High for 30 years.

He was an active member of Saybrook Methodist Church, Life Member of the OGCA & past President of the Ashtabula Rod and Gun Club. Traveling the country and seeing new things with his beloved wife Joyce of 49 years, he enjoyed camping, fishing, woodworking and his vehicles. Often times, he could be seen riding his bicycle thru Geneva on the Lake park, driving his red Corvette to car shows or just out for ice cream. He loved spending time with his friends and family and always enjoyed seeing a past student he taught.

He's survived by his son Steven (Dawn); daughter Amanda (Scot) Busser; grandchildren Mikayla McCall, Monica, Philip & Spencer Busser; and great grandson Phoenix McCall.

Friends will be received 10 am Friday, March 21, 2025 at Saybrook Methodist Church, 7900 Depot Road in Saybrook with a Service to follow at 11 am. Final Resting place will be at Saybrook Cemetery.
