Charles P. Radil Obituary

Conneaut, OH - Charles P. Radil, 87, of Conneaut, passed away peacefully Monday afternoon, August 11, 2025 at David Simpson Hospice House in Cleveland, OH. He was born September 26, 1937 in Bayonne, NJ, the son of Paul and Josephine (Przyniak) Radil.

In 1958 he met the love of his life, Lois, in Bayonne, NJ at a church dance. Years later they married on May 27, 1961. Three children soon followed. In 1971 Chuck's career brought the family to NorthEast Ohio where they settled in Conneaut, a city that Chuck developed a deep affection for. He worked most of his life in the welding business at Union Carbide, Linde Wire, and ESAB where he held positions in weld testing, welding training, troubleshooting, and finally as a Technical Service Engineer. Chuck was considered by his peers to be one of the most skilled welders that they ever had the opportunity to work with.

Following retirement, Chuck and Lois adopted the snowbird lifestyle by wintering in Florida where Chuck enjoyed playing golf and making numerous friends who considered him quite the prankster. He also fulfilled his dream of building his "house in the woods", where he spent most of his time cutting down trees, improving the landscape, and working on outdoor projects. Above all, Chuck's greatest joy was doting over his wife Lois. The love and care they shared for each other for over 64 years was immeasurable.

He was a member of Corpus Christi Parish and past member of the Ashtabula Elks Club where he would volunteer wherever he was needed, and the Ashtabula Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include his wife Lois (End) Radil; daughter Lynn (Chris) Baker of Pike Road, AL; sons Kevin (Deborah) Radil of Brunswick and Mark (Theresa) Radil of Kingsville; grandchildren Matthew (Emily) Baker of Danville, IL, Paul (Jenna) Baker of Delaware, OH, Laura Baker of Piqua, OH, and Jonathan (Kellie) Swink of Lewis Center, OH; great-grandchildren Addison, Natalie, Bailey, Adrian, and Lincoln; and his brother Edward (Marjorie) Radil of Jersey City, NJ.

Chuck was predeceased by his parents; sister Muriel Purdy and brother Frances Radil.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM, Monday, August 18, 2025 at St. Frances Cabrini Church, 744 Mill St., Conneaut, with Father Philip Miller officiating.

Visitation will be 2:00-4:00 PM, Sunday, August 17, 2025 at the Marcy

Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut.
