Corey Angelo O'Brien, age 40, beloved son of Patrick and Sandra O'Brien; cherished brother of Casey (wife Wendi), Colleen, and Connor (wife Hui Ting); favorite uncle of Triston, Brendan, Collin, Ellie, and Ronan; and loving nephew and cousin of many. Corey was born in Ashtabula, Ohio and attended Mother of Sorrows and Ashtabula Catholic Elementary Schools. Corey fell in love with musical theatre at a young age and performed in many productions at the Ashtabula Arts Center and other local venues. He was a graduate of Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin School and then moved to Chicago before relocating to Houston, Texas. His passion for plants and nature ultimately led to him owning an award-winning landscaping business, O'Brien Design. Corey was loved by pretty much everyone he met, but mostly by us, his family, as we were lucky enough to have met him first. He could light up a room, a dance floor, a front yard, or a friend in need with just a glimpse of his smile, and we are all better for having had him in our lives in one way or another. Countless friends will remember Corey as consistently being there for them in their time of need as he always put others' well-being before his own, and all of our memories certainly include how much he made us laugh. He had an insatiable love for life and whenever you were with him, he always made it clear how much he cared for you with kisses, hugs, and his signature phrase, "I love your face!" We love you, sweet Corey. You have touched so many lives, and we will all miss your laughter forever.

Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Corey at the Ashtabula Arts Center, 2928 W. 13th St., Ashtabula, Ohio, on Thursday, July 14, 2022 from 5-8 pm. Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, July 30, 2022 at Sacred Heart Church, 3049 OH-45, Rock Creek, Ohio at 10 am. Burial will be private at a later date.
