Wakeman, OH - Danny Richard Pogacsnik, 75, of Wakeman, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home after a long illness, April 3, 2026 surrounded by his loving wife, family and friends.

Danny was born, October 24, 1950 and lived in LaGrange, Ohio growing up, but built his forever home in Wakeman, Ohio along the Vermillion River enjoying every bit of nature and wildlife it had to offer him every day! He was retired from Parker Hannifin and also worked for Nelson Stud as an Engineering Technician. He had such a kind soul and his life was helping anyone who needed help, which included so many different organizations such as building homes for Habitat for Humanity, going on mission trips to Honduras, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Appalachian Mountains and joining many helping hands through different churches. He really enjoyed taking long walks in nature or along the beach stopping for ice cream and playing many games with family and friends he adored and loved especially: Sequence. Any kind of construction design, he knew how to build it, which included his home in Wakeman. He loved to travel abroad and in the United States taking in all the history those places had to offer. Danny was a funny, kind and very generous man in every way, everybody loved who will be deeply missed.

He was preceded by death by his parents, Rudolph Pogacsnik and Iris (Rowe) Pogacsnik.

Survivors include his loving wife, Amy Pogacsnik over 26 years of Wakeman, his daughter, Amber Pogacsnik of Oberlin; his granddaughter; Viola Pogacsnik, son; Mark (Jennifer) Betts of Conneaut, grandson; Ian Betts, sister; Susan Lawlor of Cleveland Heights; his brother, Timothy Pogacsnik of LaGrange; the loving "Betts" family from Conneaut, Ohio and many, many close friends.

Visitation will be held Saturday, April 11, 2026 from 4-7 pm at Toft Funeral home, 16 Cooper Street, Wakeman, Ohio. There will be no funeral, but a Celebration of Life will be held on August 8, 2026 from 12 noon - 4pm at his home in Wakeman.
