Rock Hill, S.C. - David Eric Dalin, 60, died Aug. 6, 2025, in Charlotte, N.C., after a debilitating illness.

He was born May 27, 1965, in Ashtabula to Alan and Carol (Dolgosh) Dalin. He graduated in 1983 from Ashtabula High School and Ashtabula County Joint Vocational School.

Beginning at an early age, David became an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians and played first base in the Saybrook Boys Baseball League from the time he was 8 until he aged out of the league in his mid-teens. He also was a Cub Scout and Boy Scout.

In his spare time, David loved to play golf and fish. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR and was a lifelong dedicated fan of the Cleveland Browns.

As an adult, David moved to Rock Hill, S.C., where he attended York Technical College and spent his career employed by Meritor Automotive (now Cummins Drivetrain and Braking Systems), where he maintained the company's equipment.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife Dana Dalin; children Jennifer (Samantha) Dalin, Jessica (Josh) Vaux, Jillian Dalin (David Lingard) and Kira Thompson (Schorrod Haynes Jr.); sisters Kelly (James) Scoby and Julie (Phil) Brawer; grandchildren Connor, Colin, Alexis, Vanelope (lovingly referred to by her grandpa as "Daisy Mae"), Finley, Micah and Ameya; three nieces and one nephew.
