David Edward Shirk, age 50, of Geneva, OH, passed away on March 12, 2022, at Chardon Health Care. Born August 5, 1971, to William and Cathleen (nee: McKay) Shirk in Euclid, OH.
David attended Mentor High School. He worked for R.W. Sidley in Thompson as a Driver for 33 years. He was known as "Slinger Dave". He loved the outdoors and enjoyed riding motorcycles, fishing, hockey and anything with a motor. If he wasn't watching Looney Tunes he was watching car shows.
He is survived by his father, William Shirk of Munson Twp., brother, Mike (Lynn) Shirk of Northfield Center, OH and sister, Kelly Haney of Green, OH.
Preceded in death by his mother, Cathleen Hujer.
A Gathering for friends and family will be held on Friday, March 18, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South Street, Chardon, OH 44024.
The family suggest donations be made in his memory to the Geauga Humane Society Rescue Village, 15463 Chillicothe Road, Novelty, OH 44072.
