Ashtabula, Ohio - Donna Capitena, 91, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 7, 2025.

She was born November 1, 1933 in Ashtabula, the daughter of the late Anthony and Eleanor (Anderson) Volpone. A 1951 graduate of Ashtabula High School, she married Francis Capitena in 1956.

Donna was a member of Mt. Carmel Church and Our Lady of Peace Parish. She worked as a bus driver for Ashtabula City School for 23 years prior to her retirement.

She is survived by her children, Sandy, Mike, Lorri, Juli, Cindy, and Mary and their families; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis on May 30, 2022; and her sister, Peggy Mead.

Calling hours will be held from 5-7pm on Friday, January 10, 2025 at the ZABACK-WILLIAMS-DUCRO FUNERAL HOME, 500 West Prospect Road, Ashtabula and from 10-11AM Saturday, January 11 at Our Lady of Peace, 1200 E. 21st Street, Ashtabula.

Mass of Christian burial will be held 11AM Saturday, January 11, 2025 at Our Lady of Peace, 1200 E. 21st, Ashtabula. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in her name may be made to Our Lady of Peace, the Alzheimer's Association, or Bellacare Hospice.
