Dorothy E. Thornton, age 89, of Geneva, Ohio, went to be with her Lord and Saviour on Saturday, Aug. 3rd, 2024, at UH Lake West Medical Center. She was born on March 1, 1935, in Mobley, W.Va. She was devoted full time as a loving wife to her soul mate David and as a caring mother to her family. She was a longtime member of Bible Baptist Church in Ashtabula. Her greatest joy was seeing and spending time with family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, David M. Thornton; She is survived by her children: Anita Depoy and Valerie Dixon, both of Geneva, Connie (Doug ) Walker of Texas and David (Sandy) Thornton of North Kingsville; seven grand, seven great, and two great-great-grandchildren; brother, Tom; sisters, Maxine, Sue and Ginnie; and also numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Doug and Goldie Hayhurst, one sister and three brothers. Private Graveside Services will be held at Arcola Road Cemetery in Madison at a later date. Arrangements are by the POTTI FUNERAL HOME in Madison.
