Douglas A. Smith, age 80, passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at Jefferson Health Care. He was born on October 6, 1943 in Mineral Ridge the son of Joseph J. and Mary Ellen (Hammell) Smith. Doug married Margaret (Price) Smith on October 25, 1985. He was a Hazmat truck driver working for L.T. Harnett Trucking for past 20 years. He loved anything outdoors and working with his hands. He enjoyed gardening, horses, tractors and driving. Doug is survived by his wife Margaret Smith, children Denise (Mike) Michalski, Arlis (Robin) Stout, Clair A. Smith, Heather Smith, Tanya Smith, Monica Bennett, sister, Mary Hake, brother George Smith, 15 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 2 Great Great Grandchildren and his former wife Janet West Smith. Preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Mary Smith, siblings Thomas Smith, Joseph Smith Jr., Clair Smith and son David Stout. A Celebration of Life Dinner will be held at St. Mary Church Hall, 103 N.
