I grew up visiting Elmer every Saturday buying penny candy. He was a great part of my childhood! Him and his wife were a major part of my childhood and my family is heartbroken over his family's loss.

Elmer was such a good man and we loved him. My husband Clyde thought the world of him, told me stories about growing up with Elmer; of the times they would sit out in front of Elmer's store watching the world go by. Elmer was a role model for Clyde and I thank him for that. He taught Clyde the value of working hard, of doing the best job you could and of thanking those who helped you along the way. It was an honor and a privilege to meet him way back in 1967 and it has been an honor to know him all these years. You will be missed Elmer and we loved you, very much.

I was so sorry to hear of Elmer passing. He was a big part of my life growing up by his store. As a kid I use to sit out front of the store in the evening and talk, or help him put of stock. He was a great friend and will be missed. I have stopped for visits every time I was in Ashtabula for years! Last visit was last summer! Loved him and Treresa as part of my family!

We always enjoyed talking to Mr. DiCesare when he would be out on his walk. There would always be a friendly wave of you were in your car driving past him out in the yard. He was a wonderful neighbor. Thinking of the family and sending prayers.
