Ashtabula, Ohio - Giuseppe "Joe" Scarpitti, 83, of Ashtabula, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2026, with his

loving family by his side, following a sudden illness.

He was born on August 4, 1942, in Roccasicura, Italy, and immigrated to Ashtabula in 1973 with

his wife, Anna, and their two children.

Joe retired from Delta Railroad Construction after many years of dedicated service, and was

known for his homemade wine "grape juice," drinking espresso with the "special" milk, and an

avid golf, bocce, and poker player.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Anna (Fasano) Scarpitti; his parents, Ernesto and

Addolorata Scarpitti; and his brother-in-law, Cosmo Laurello.

Joe is survived by his children, Addolorata Scarpitti and Ernesto (Bernadine) Scarpitti;

grandchildren, Joseph (Brianna) Scarpitti, Nicholas Scarpitti, and Hannah Longstreet; his

treasured great-granddaughter, Gianna Scarpitti; sisters, Vincenzina, and Ida both of Ohio; Maria

Teresa, Mario, Tonino, and Anna all of Italy; and many nieces, nephews, extended family

members, and dear friends.

Calling hours are on Monday, July 6, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon at Guerriero Funeral

Home, 1550 W. 19th Street, Ashtabula. A Catholic funeral service will immediately follow, with

interment at Greenlawn Memory Gardens.
