Jacqueline Lois McKee, 88, passed away peacefully at home on March 12, 2025 surrounded by her family.
She was born on October 5, 1936 in Ashtabula, the daughter of the late James P. and Elsie A. (Erickson) Rennick and had been an Ashtabula resident most of her life except for the 20 years she lived in Florida. She attended Harbor High School and on December 12, 1959 married the love of her life, Charles James McKee, and together they shared 65 years of love and adventures.
Jackie was known for her kindness. She wanted to make everyone she interacted with feel good. She would tell them "God bless you!" as her way of saying goodbye and always looked for an opportunity to compliment those with whom she came into contact, whether they were friends or strangers. She also would recite Psalm 118:24 "this is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it".
According to Jackie, over her working career, she did many different things from working at Harbor-Topky Library to First National Bank in Ashtabula, serving as a stockbroker with Perry T. Blaine and Co. in Ashtabula and also as an EMT working with Hawkins Ambulance Company. Many also knew her from selling Avon, Shaklee, and Tupperware as a side gig. She was well known for her kindness and exaggerated stories.
But her primary job was taking care of her family at which she was very good. She loved spending time with them every opportunity she would get.
Strong in her faith, Jackie was raised at Messiah Lutheran Church, was a long-time member of Saybrook United Methodist Church, and more recently had attended The Ridge Nazarene Church.
Her survivors include her husband of 65 years, Charles James "Jim" McKee; three children, Jennifer (Jasper) Swaine of Roanoke, VA, and Matthew (Robin) McKee and Ashlee McKee, both of Ashtabula; 13 grandchildren, Julie, Essie, Skye, Sierra, Dustin, Jacob, Hannah, Andrew, Kiarra, Sean, Izaiyah, Juliana, and Elijah; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Carole Asten of Carlisle, PA; and her beloved dog, Precious.
Jackie was preceded in death by her daughter, Cheryl Nicholson; her grandson, Patrick Nicholson; her granddaughter, Sara McKee; a brother, James Rennick; and her parents.

Burial will at a later date with her husband.
