Janet Louise Brown Obituary
Palm Harbor, Florida - Janet Louise Brown of Palm Harbor, Florida, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on December 17, 1938, in Ashtabula, Ohio, she was the beloved daughter of Elmer and Jennie (Augustson) Hinkle.
Janet was the devoted wife of Joseph Brown, and together they built a strong and loving family. She was the proud mother of four children, and her home was always filled with warmth and hospitality. She grew up in North Kingsville and Kingsville, graduating from Kingsville High School in 1956.
Janet had a great appreciation for music, which she acquired from her father. She shared stories of Sunday family drives, with her and her sisters singing in the backseat of their car for their entertainment. As a young adult, she sang in the Kingsville Presbyterian Church Choir, where she was a member. She and her two sisters also sang in a local choral music group "The Starlighters." She appreciated all kinds of music, and especially loved Elvis!
Janet's professional life was marked by creativity and connection. She was a successful beauty consultant with Mary Kay Cosmetics, where her beauty, charm, and confidence inspired many. Later, she embraced a new chapter as a design consultant with several high-end fine furniture companies, where she thrived in helping others create beautiful living spaces.
Janet truly loved life. She found joy in entertaining, whether hosting family gatherings or social events with friends. She adored dancing, dressing up, and enjoying evenings out — always with grace, style, and a radiant smile.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Lanny; and her sisters, Evelyn (Lee) Robishaw and Shirley (David) Dubiaga.
Janet is survived by her loving husband, Joseph, and their four children:
- Jerry (Kim) Brown of Scottsdale, Arizona
- Susan (Jon) Lyon of Palm Harbor, Florida
- Jeff (Lisa) Brown of Chandler, Arizona
- Stephen (Marsha) Brown of Glendale, Arizona
She was affectionately known as "Nana" to her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren — a role she cherished deeply.
At this time, no memorial services are planned. The family invites those who wish to honor Janet's memory to consider a contribution to the Alzheimer's Foundation Help fight Alzheimers.
Janet's life was a true reflection of love and kindness. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who were blessed to know her.
