Colebrook Twp., Ohio - Janice F. Smith, age 83 passed away at UH Geauga Medical Center on Saturday, November 8, 2025. She was born in Monroe, MI on April 28, 1942 the daughter of Frank and Laura (Antkiewicz) Urbanick.

Janice married George V. Smith on June 14, 1969. After graduating from New Lyme Deming High School in 1960 she worked as a nurse's aide, receptionist, and as manager at Punderson State Park and cataloged at G.V. Library. Janice was involved with the Colebrook Homecoming and served as president of Orwell American Legion Auxiliary for 5 years. She was a member of the Colebrook United Methodist Church. She is survived by several cousins, and close friends Valerie Griffin, Darlene Limestoll, Nancy Evans, Bill Huffman, step sisters Belindina LaRosa and Carol (Jim) Humphrey adopted grandson/family Zackary Markley, Shelly, Sammie, Miranda, Mandy, Dallas, Seth, Michael, Eleanor, and church family. Preceded in death by parents, husband, step daughter Karen Johnson, step fathers Walter Kawecki and Stanley Antkiewicy, companion Mike Mallay and several cousins. A funeral service officiated by Pastors Laurie Krieg and Jim Mizner will be held at Colebrook U.M.C., 7925 Route 46, Colebrook, Ohio on Friday, November 14, 2025 at 12:00 p.m., burial will follow at Colebrook N. Cemetery. A Woman's American Legion Auxiliary Service to begin at 11:45 a.m. Visitation will be held at the church prior to services from 10:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Memorial Contributions may be made to Colebrook U.M.C.
