Jerry Lee Hitchcock of Richmond, age 73, passed away at his home on January 1, 2021. He was born on April 24, 1947 to parents Gordon and Adeline (Zmersky) Hitchcock. He was married to his beloved wife, Louise, who passed away in 2018.

Jerry was a 1965 Pymatuning Valley graduate and earned a theology degree from Malone College in 1972. He accepted Christ while in college and preached in multiple churches in the area. Jerry was inducted into Malone College's Athletic Hall of Fame in 1999, where he earned many awards for his pitching. After college he was invited to travel to South America to play baseball and share Christ with the people they met during the month-long trip.

He was a retired farmer, taught charter schools for a couple years and was a substitute teacher for twenty years. He also worked for the township for twenty years. He was a member of Cowboy Church in Pierpont, OH. Sharing his faith throughout his life was important to Jerry.

Jerry had a love for hunting and the outdoors. He won the Governor's Cup and was a member of the Jefferson Coon Club. He enjoyed trapping and coon hunting, as well as raising, buying and selling coon dogs. He always looked forward to competing with fellow coon hunters across the Midwest. He enjoyed sharing his love of hunting with his nephews and great-nephews.

Jerry is survived by his ten brothers and sisters and their families. Jerry's smile and laugh will not be forgotten.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Andover Christian Church at 1p.m. on January 6, 2021.
