JoAnn Brydle

Madison, Ohio - Madison — JoAnn Brydle, 78, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, March 21, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born September 6, 1947, in Miami, West Virginia, the daughter of Clarence F. and Samantha E. (Isaacs) Church. In 1950, her family moved to Kingsville, and she spent most of her life in Northeast Ohio. JoAnn was a 1966 graduate of Ashtabula Harbor High School.

JoAnn was a devoted member of the United Methodist Church. She married the love of her life, Charles D. Brydle, on July 19, 1969; he preceded her in death on March 29, 2002. JoAnn dedicated her career to the banking industry, where she worked until her retirement.

She was an active member of the Red Hat Flappers of Ashtabula County and the Order of the Eastern Star for many years. JoAnn enjoyed baking, especially Christmas cookies, reading and working on crossword puzzles, finding joy in life's simple pleasures.

Above all, JoAnn's greatest love was her family. She cherished time spent with her grandchildren—supporting them at their events and delighting in giving thoughtful and meaningful gifts. She was a truly kind and selfless person, always putting others first. JoAnn will be remembered for her gentle spirit, warm heart, and the genuine care she showed to everyone she met.

JoAnn is survived by her children, Susan (Jason) Dadante and Edward (Marissa) Brydle; siblings, Jerry (Kathy) Church and Alice (Nelson) Hocking; grandchildren, Amadeo and Giovanna Dadante and Domenica and Santino Brydle; brother-in-law, Dale Slack; and many nieces and nephews that loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles D. Brydle; and her siblings and their spouses, Mable (Sid) LaMont, Mary Slack, Carrie "Margaret" (Dale) Vencl, Henry (Norma), James (Ann), Fred (Jean) and Bill (Billie Jean) Church.
