Ashtabula, Ohio - John Cristian Nelson, age 91, of Ashtabula, passed away on Friday, August 15, 2025, Ashtabula Country Club Retirement Center.
John was born on December 6, 1933, in Ashtabula, the son of Charles and May Hanson Nelson. He was a graduate from Ashtabula High School. John joined the United States Air Force in 1952 and served his country until her was honorably discharged in 1955. John returned to Ashtabula and worked as a welding and steel fabricator for many years. John loved to go for walks in the Ashtabula Mall, fishing and was a member of the Ashtabula V.F.W.
John was preceded in death by his parents, brother Charles Nelson, Jr., sisters Janet Mickelson, Dorothy Budd, and Eleanor Franz.
He is survived by one son, Mike J. Nelson of Conneaut, two grandchildren Joel and Noah Nelson, and brother Robert and Di Nelson, Fair Oaks, California.
At John's request, he will be cremated, and his ashes are to be buried at Edgewood Cemetery, Ashtabula.
