Judith "Judy" D. Dean (Jewell), 78, of Dorset, died unexpectedly in the comfort of her home on Friday, June 23, 2023.

A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, she is survived by her husband of 60 years, Herbert; their four children: Deborah (Hank Weston) of New London, NC, Herbert Jr. (Ruth), Richard (Karen), and Scott (Jamie) all of Dorset; her eight grandchildren, her six great grandchildren, and her sister, Linda Jewell of Dorset.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Claudia Jewell of Dorset; her sister, Carol Clute of Williamsfield and her grandson, Cody Dean of Dorset.

Judy was an avid homemaker who touched the lives of all who knew her. She loved to bake and cook for anyone who visited her home. She also enjoyed gardening and reading in her free time and in the past, she served on the Dorset Fire Department's Ladies Auxiliary. Judy loved being involved in the lives of her children, all of her grandchildren, and her great grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

In her honor, visitation will be held on Thursday, June 29, 2023, from 4:00p-7:00p at the Dorset United Methodist Church, 2800 St. Rt. 193 in Dorset. A funeral service, to be led by Joe Cole, will be held at the same location on Friday, June 30, 2023 at 11:00a. Burial to immediately follow the funeral service at Dorset Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her tribute to the American Diabetes Association.
