Ashtabula, OH - Judith Lynn Kent, 68, passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at Saybrook Landing in Ashtabula.

Judy was born on May 12, 1957 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of the late Gilbert and Anita (Jacobs) Benowitz.

Judy was a proud graduate of Jefferson High School, Class of 1975, and continued her education at Westminster College, where she earned her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology in 1979, a reflection of her deep interest in understanding and helping others. She devoted much of her professional life to serving her community, working for many years with Community Action and Head Start. She also shared her time and care with local students as a substitute teacher for Ashtabula Area City Schools and spent a decade at Ashtabula Regional Medical Center, continuing her quiet dedication to others.

In her later years, Judy lived at Saybrook Landing. It was there that she built meaningful friendships and became part of a close-knit community that brought her comfort and joy. She found simple happiness in reading and cherished every moment spent with her family and friends, who remained at the heart of her life.

Judith is survived by her children, Leah (Nick) Kent and Hannah (Nate) Kent-Landis; sister, Michelle (Mary) Gorman; aunt, Barbara Baughman; her nephew, Benjamin; her niece, Rebecca; her former spouse, Kevin Kent; she also has many beloved cousins, Jeff, Ellene, Denise, Kim, and Bobby.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her aunts, Marlene Garnick, Stella Hiller; and her uncle, Harold Benowitz.

A memorial service will be held on at 1PM on Monday, April 6, 2026 at Zaback-Williams-Ducro Funeral Home 500 W Prospect, Ashtabula, OH 44004, with Dr. Jeff Brodsky officiating. A time for gathering will be held from 12PM until the service at 1PM.
