June M. Brennan Obituary

Conneaut, OH - June M. Brennan,91 of Conneaut, passed away Friday morning, October 3, 2025 at the Ashtabula County Nursing Home, Kingsville, OH. She was Born June 16, 1934 in Erie, PA, the daughter of Harry and Dorothy (Crow) Goodenow.

June worked for JCPenney for 22 years and was a member of the Evangelical Hungarian Reformed Church in Conneaut. She was an avid bowler, bowling for over 50 years. She was also a blood donor and throughout the years, donated over 10 gallons of blood. When her children were young, she helped with the Dean Avenue and Chestnut Elementary PTA.

June loved reading and was a member of the Conneaut Library 100 Book Club. She volunteered teaching adult reading and at Chestnut School after retiring helping kids who needed extra help until her husband became ill.

She was not a mom taxi, but sure was a grandma taxi. She loved going go her grandchildren's high school sports events. She was known for making the best brownies.

June was a fan of all of the Cleveland sports teams and The Ohio State Buckeyes.

June's love for her family and friends was very special and will be cherished by all who were blessed to have known her.

Survivors include her daughters Sue Goodwin of Conneaut, Janet (Jim) Meade of Jefferson; sons John (Sandy) Brennan of Conneaut, and Michael (Michelle) Brennan of Conneaut; grandchildren Laura (Billy) Burke, Lisa Butts, Timothy (Jamie) Kennedy, Amanda (Martin) Somppi, Whitney (Jim) Mason, Maggie (Jon Chizmar) Brennan, Renae (David Pavlansky) Kennedy, Joey (Aubrey) Brennan, Kayla (Jacob) Simek, and Bryan Brennan; several great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; sisters Joyce (Michael) Brokos of Painesville, Ruth Loveland of Geneva, and Phyllis Zolman of Coeur d'Alene, ID.

She is also survived by her sister-in-law Opal Goodenow, daughter-in-law Jamie Brennan; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Charles "Chub" Brennan, whom she married June 21, 1952; daughter Jean Carlo and son-in-law Rick Carlo; son Joseph Brennan; granddaughter Sunday Goodwin; great-granddaughter Serenity Blankenship; sister Elizabeth Ogren; and brother Harry Goodenow.

Funeral service will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, October 9, 2025 at the Marcy Funeral Home, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, N. Kingsville, OH.

Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM, Wednesday, October 8, 2025 the funeral home.
