Jefferson, Ohio - MaryAnn Shull, 95, passed away on July 24, 2025, in the comfort of her own home, with her son-in-law, grandchildren, and great grandchildren by her side.
She was blessed with a beautiful long life, born on May 26, 1930, in Manchester, Ohio, the daughter of Otis and Edna Carmany.
On November 12, 1949, she married Donald F. Shull, and they were blessed with one child, a daughter Donna Jean. They lived in Bedford, Ohio and MaryAnn worked for many years in a doctor's office. Following her retirement in 1993 she moved to Jefferson to be closer to her daughter and her grandchildren.
She became very active in the area, especially in the lives of her grandchildren. She was on the fair board auxiliary and was a fair volunteer in the culinary and canned goods portion of the 4H. She was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ and was a member of the Church Bell's fundraising group. She was also active as a volunteer for the MANA Food pantry at Saint Paul's Church as well as a volunteer for the Falcon Follies. She was her grandchildren's number one fan and went to all their school activities; she was also a huge Cleveland sports fan as well as an avid cat lover.
She survived by her son-in-law, Roger Butler (Kathy Barnard); Her grandchildren, James Butler, Janet Harrington (Randall), Jody Anthony (Elmer), and Cindy Maynard (Chad); her great grandchildren: Craig, Justin, Joshua, Jacob, Hailey, Cody, Destiny and Dillon; and her great-great granddaughter Peyton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald in 1995 her daughter Donna in 2013 and her grandson Kenneth in 1998.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at the Jefferson First Congregational United Church of Christ, 41 East Jefferson St.; Calling hours will be held from 3 to 6:00 pm and the funeral service will begin at 6 PM. She will be laid to rest with her husband in private family service on Wednesday at Crown Hill Cemetery in Twinsburg, Ohio.
Memorial contributions can be made in her name to the Ashtabula County Animal Protective League, or you can go and adopt a pet in her honor.
