Mildred "Millie" A. Bollinger Obituary

Andover, OH - ANDOVER-Mildred "Millie" A. Bollinger, 92, a devoted follower of Christ, passed away on Friday, September 12, 2025, at Meadville Medical Center in Meadville, PA.


Born July 2, 1933, in Pittsburgh PA, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Helen (Dickenson) Gustason. Strong in her faith, Millie was a member of Andover Christian Church in Andover, OH.


After Millie earned her master's degree in education, she dedicated over 35 years to teaching students in the Pittsburgh area. A family of educators, Millie followed in her mother's footsteps and now many family members follow in Millie's footsteps working as teachers.


In her younger years, Millie embraced the beauty of nature and the joy of adventure. She was an avid biker and in the winter months, Millie enjoyed cross-country skiing. Her love for water activities was equally profound; sailing, kayaking, and canoeing brought Millie immense joy, as did the laughter she shared with friends and family during board game nights.


Left to cherish her memory is her devoted husband of 43 years, Roger Bollinger Sr; her children, Bryan (Debbie) Spang, Eric (Charlotte) Spang, Lu Ann (Tim) Wheeler; stepchildren, Dawn Mucho, Danielle Bollinger; grandchildren, Brad, Matt, and Dan Wheeler, Aurora, Adrian, Natalie, Kelsey, and Zackary Spang, Owen, and Ava Mucho as well as numerous great grandchildren.


In addition to her parents, Millie was preceded in death by her stepson, Roger Bollinger Jr. and her two sisters, Florence Walters and Margie Berringer.


Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, from 1PM-2PM at the Andover Christian Church, 200 Stillman Ave., Andover, OH 44003, immediately followed by the funeral service starting at 2PM. Pastor Josh Peyton will be officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Andover, OH.


In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the summer camp dear to Millie's heart- Lutherlyn, 500 Lutherlyn Ln, Butler, PA 16001.
