Monte R. Foltz, 73, passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center.

Monte was born on October 14, 1950, in Ashtabula, Ohio, the son of Clifford and Frances (Vesey) Foltz.

Monte very proudly served his country in the US Army's 101st Airborne Division during the Vietnam War from July of 1968-July of 1970 achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. His love of our country and the love of his fellow veterans was always very apparent to everyone who knew him.

He was a dedicated and hard working 30 year member of the Teamsters Union. He drove for several beverage distributors in northeast Ohio spending the last 15 years working for Lipton Distributors in Ashtabula. He was a member of The Ashtabula First Baptist Church, the East Ashtabula Club, the North End Club, the Ashtabula V.F.W. and the Ashtabula American Legion.

Monte was an avid golfer, his home course was Geneva-on-the-Lake; he was lucky enough to have had a "hole-in-one" in his career and for the past 27 years he has made an annual trip to Hunters Station Golf Course in Tionesta, PA with a large group of family and friends that he thoroughly enjoyed. He was honored to be placed in the Ashtabula County Bowlers Hall of Fame; he was a loyal Cleveland sports and Ohio State Buckeye fan. He also loved to sing and enjoyed karaoke night at the local clubs he was a member of.

He is survived by his loving wife, Dee; his beloved sons whom he was very proud of, Terry (Tracy) Foltz and Eric Foltz; his grandchildren, Jeffrey (Olivia) Cottom and Amber Foltz; his great-grandson, Noah; his step-children, who he loved and cared for very much: Michael Morgan, Michelle (Vince) Charles, and Shannon Young and their 8 children; as well as his siblings: Ricky Foltz, Kathy (Tom) Soini and Clifford "Buddy" Foltz, Jr.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Charlene in 2003, and his sisters, Norma Jean and Virginia.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with a funeral service to follow at 12:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 4354 Park Avenue in Ashtabula, Ohio. A luncheon to celebrate Monte's life will immediately follow the services at the church.
