Austinburg, Ohio - Myrtle Perkins Hamrick Welker, 81, passed away peacefully Friday, October 10, 2025, at the Austinburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born March 12, 1944, in Ashtabula, Ohio, the daughter of John and Gladys (Pierce) Perkins and had been a lifelong area resident. A homemaker most of her life, she also worked in sales for Wal-Mart, owned the Agape Book Store for a number of years, and one of her most favorite jobs was working at the cash cage at a casino in Nevada. She obtained her associate's degree in Specialized Business from Fortis Institute in 2013, with a 4.0 gpa, at the age of 69. She married Robert Hamrick on May 27, 1963, but was later widowed. On March 10, 2007, she married Richard Lee Welker.

A longtime member of the First Community Church of God in Ashtabula with most of her family, Myrtle loved to travel, play bingo and crocheting. But more than anything, her family was her treasure.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Brenda (Brian) Butler, Kenneth (Pil) Hamrick, and Kris Hamrick; 10 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren; her siblings, Gerald Perkins of Ashtabula, Evelyn Beeman of Ashtabula, James Perkins of Ashtabula, William (Cheryl) Perkins of Willoughby, Rebecca Jeffrey of Andover, and Thomas (Nicole) Perkins of Ashtabula; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Lee Welker on June 7, 2023; her first husband and father of her children, Police Chief Robert Hamrick in 1970; her daughter-in-law, Jennifer Hamrick; her great granddaughter, Piper; her sisters, Lucille Mracek, Marlene Shaffer, and Cynthia Keyes; her brothers, Timothy, Charles, John Jr., Ronald, and Robert Perkins, and her parents.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, from 3 PM until the time of service at 5 PM at the First Community Church of God, 1910 S. Ridge Road, Ashtabula, Ohio with Pastor Jeff Combs officiating.
