Roaming Shores, Ohio - Roaming Shores - Nancy L. Hensler, 74, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Thursday, April 16, 2026.

She was born on February 16, 1952, in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Herbert and Eugenia (Janc) Burd. Nancy was a 1970 graduate of Edgewood High School. She married her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, George D. Hensler, on March 24, 1973.

Nancy was a devoted and faithful member of Lighthouse Baptist Church, where she enjoyed singing in the choir and served as the church's official decorator, a role she took great joy in. She was also an avid reader. Above all, Nancy cherished her role as a wife, mother, and "Nana."

Nancy is survived by her beloved husband of 53 years, George Hensler; her son, Dr. Daniel (Heather) Hensler; her cherished grandchildren, Titus D., Lily E., Duncan J., Ava C., and Eliza A.; her siblings, Larry (Kathy) Burd and Mary (Gary) Smith; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Steve and Bonnie Hensler; as well as her nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a granddaughter, Norah L. Hensler.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2026 from 4PM to 6PM at Lighthouse Baptist Church, 2929 Carpenter Rd., Ashtabula, Ohio, where a service will follow at 6:00PM. Private burial will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in her memory may be given to Lighthouse Baptist Church.
