Paul M. Goode
Paul M. Goode, 77, passed away Monday September 23, 2019, peacefully at his home.
He was born in Circleville, Ohio, on December 14, 1941, the son of William and Ruth (Maechtel) Goode.
Paul received his undergraduate degree from St. Charles and went on to study for 4 years at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome, Italy; and returned home to receive his master's degree from the University of Buffalo. He was a junior high and high school teacher while he lived in Rochester, NY. He came to Ashtabula and he worked for UPS for 25 years.

Paul was very active in our community; he served on the boards of the Ashtabula Historical Society, Catholic Charities, the Marine Museum and the Mother of Sorrows Parish Council. At Mother of Sorrows he was very active and served as a lectern, Eucharistic minister and was a member of the men's choir.
He loved architecture, archaeology, local and world history and social action. He loved working around the house and helping others. He will be missed dearly by family and friends.
He is survived by his loving family: his wife Patricia; his son Christopher (Sirirattana) Goode; his grandson Matthew Goode; his brother David (Pauline) Goode; and his sister Ruth Seimer.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 8 siblings.

My husband and I had the honor of spending some time with Mr. Goode a couple times when we stayed at the B&B. He was so knowledgeable and personable & really made us feel relaxed and welcome. We are sad to hear of his passing, but happy we had the pleasure of making his acquaintance. May he Rest In Peace. Our sincere condolences to Mrs. Goode and the rest of his family.

Pat, I’m so glad that I had the opportunity to see Paul & you after so many years, when you visited my parents. I enjoyed & will miss the exchange of stories between my dad & Paul. My dad will miss the visits & the mincemeat pies!

We met Paul when we visited our family in Ashtabula. He and Pat made our visits occasions of great conversation, memories and good food/rest. Our time spent with them, especiallly around the breakfast table, reminded me of those times the Lord Himself must have enjoyed with his brothers and sisters. A may of deep prayer and conviction, he and his graces are and will be needed now and in the future as they were in the past. Ashtabula has lost a cherished and valued resident, whose legacy cannot be lost at all. His dear soul is among the angels.
