Ashtabula, Ohio - Richard Bruosta, 89, passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2026.

He was born on June 22, 1936 to parents John and Stella (Zombek) Bruosta in Cleveland, Ohio.

Richard graduated from Ashtabula High School in 1954. He loved to watch the Gaurdians Team play, and extended his love for sports with playing golf frequently and being apart of the bowling league, which he won many championships with. Richard also loved to spend time with his brother, they went to Florida together in the winter and would watch the horse racing and dog racing together as well.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Stella (Zombek) Bruosta; siblings, Dolores (Max) Carter, and Robert Bruosta; and nephew, Ronald Carter.

Richard is survived by his brother, John Bruosta Jr.; sister-in-law, Diane Bruosta; nieces and nephews, Steven (Jean) Carter, Kara Fay, Robert (Leah) Bruosta, and Danielle Bruosta; and six great nieces and nephews.

Friends and family will be received at Ducro Funeral Home, 4524 Elm Avenue, Ashtabula, Ohio Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at 8:30AM. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 19th, 2026 at 10:00AM at Our Lady of Peace, 1200 E 21st Street, Ashtabula, Ohio, with burial at St. Joseph's Cemetery following the services with Father Hetzel officiating.
