David (Traci) and son Logan Nelson announce the passing of their beloved father and grandfather Richard "Dick" L. Nelson of Saybrook, Ohio on May 25, 2025. Richard was loved and will be missed by all of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Richard worked at Rockwell Brake Plant before becoming an Ashtabula City Police Officer. Richard also looked forward to having his morning coffee with his buddies at the coffee counter at the local restaurants. Richard also loved spending time with his favorite pets, his dog Max and cat Doogie. Richard was proceeded in death by his parents John Hewitt, Grace (Ginn) and Charles Nelson. His sons, Ricky Nelson Jr., and Tyler Nelson. His brothers John Hewitt and Ron Hewitt. Richard will be missed by his extended family and friends throughout the Ashtabula and Mesa, Arizona areas. A private family celebration of life was held.
