Ronald M. Whaley
Ronald M. Whaley, 83, of Chardon, passed away Monday, January 14, 2019, at Mapleview Country Villa in Chardon. Born on October 22, 1935, in Jefferson, he was a son of the late Maurice and Nina (Fisher) Whaley. Ronald was a U.S. Air Force Veteran. He later worked at Eaton Corp. in the Machine Shop. He was a Pastor at Burton Free Methodist Church and the Full Gospel Mission Church in Newbury. He was instrumental in building the Hartsgrove Assembly for Christ Church, where he became a member and his step-son was a Pastor. Ronald loved singing gospel songs and was an avid coon hunter. He started to write a book of his hunting experience. He will be missed by his family and friends.
Ronald is survived by his beloved wife Bobbie Jean (Riddle) Whaley of 38 years; 2 sons; 1 daughter; 1 step daughter; 6 step sons; and several grandchildren; and step grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one son; and a sister.
A Memorial gathering of family and friends with a Celebration of Life to follow will be held Friday, January 18, 2019, from 5:00 PM until Service at 6:00 PM with Rev. Bill Davis officiating, at the Sly Family Funeral Home, 15670 W. High St, Middlefield, OH 44062. Burial will be at held at a later date in Westlawn Cemetery, Mantua Township.
