Sara A. "Sally" Hammon, age 90, passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at Blossom Hill Care Center in Huntsburg. She was born on September 4, 1933 the daughter of James W. Drown and Doris M. (McCalmont) Drown. Sally married Raymond R. Hammon on March 30, 1956. She worked for Standard Oil of Cleveland, Marsh Motors in Orwell, and as a Cutting Machine Operator at Kay Dee Manufacturing in Orwell. Sally was a member of Windsor United Methodist Church, Friends of the Library, Windsor Historical Society, and was on the Women's Auxiliary of Windsor Fire Department. She was an avid bowler, Cleveland Indians and G.V. sports fan. She enjoyed attending all her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren's activities. Sally was proud to be the first graduating class from the consolidated Grand Valley High School in 1951. She is survived by her husband of 67 years Raymond R. Hammon, children Russ (Sue) Hammon of Orwell, Chris (Cheryl) Hammon of Hartsgrove, Kim Hammon of Middlefield, Lee (Carolynn) Hammon of Chardon, grandchildren Jennifer (Robert) Benn, Jim (Elizabeth) Hammon, Eric Hammon, Kyle (Michelle) Hammon, great grandchildren, Sean and Damon Hammon, Justin, Ryan, Kaiden Benn, Bryson and Colton Hammon. Preceded in death by her parents James and Doris Drown, infant daughter Beverly. Calling hours will be held at the Paine Funeral Home, Inc., 140 E. Main Street, Orwell OH 44076 on Sunday, December 17, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. A funeral service officiated by Pastor Cathy McIlvain will be held on Monday, December 18, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Windsor United Methodist Church, 5161 Route 322, Windsor, OH 44099. A private committal service of her ashes will be held at Windsor Cemetery at a later date.
