Stanley  Safford
Stanley Safford passed away Sept. 4, 2019, at Geauga Medical Center.
He was born Aug. 14, 1926, in Cambridge Springs, Pa., the son of Ralph and Alice Safford.
After graduating from West Springfield High School in 1944, he enlisted in the navy. Stanley served two years as a petty officer, naval aviation radio-man.
A graduate of Ohio University, he worked at Social Security as a systems analyst for 33 years.
He married Pauline Bias July 28, 1957, in Ashtabula. They were both avid readers and bridge players.
Survivors include his son, JOhn Safford of Boise, Idaho; step-daughters Sue (Sam) Beatty of Geneva and Linda (David) Winters of Columbus; grandchildren Katelyn Safford, Becca Baker, Pam Dragon and Christ Beatty; great grandchildren Kenzie and Kristen.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and daughter, Ellen.
It was his wish that his ashes be buried with his wife in the Kingman Cemetery in Delaware, Ohio.
A graveside service will be held there at a later date.
