Wickliffe, OH - Thomas C. Brown, 79, passed away on August 3, 2026. Born in Napoleon, Ohio, on December 6, 1946, he was the son of the late Richard and Virginia Brown. A man of intellect, service, and warmth, he leaves behind a legacy of devotion to his family, his country, and his community.

A proud U.S. Army veteran, Tom courageously served during the Vietnam War, earning the rank of First Lieutenant and receiving the Bronze Star for his distinguished service. Following his military duty, he began his legal career in Geneva with his partner and fellow Vietnam veteran, Bill O'Neill. Tom dedicated over 30 years to his career as an attorney in private practice in Ashtabula County. Beyond his professional life, he remained deeply committed to his fellow veterans as an active member of both the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and the American Legion.

Known for his thoughtful, charming, and considerate nature, Tom was a man who truly cared for those around him. He had a particular compassion for those facing difficult circumstances, and throughout his career he was often an advocate for people who had few resources and no one else to stand in their corner. Outside of his work, he was an avid reader with a keen interest in politics and a lifelong, passionate fan of Cleveland sports. He found special peace and reflection spending time at the Geneva City Civil War Monument and Memorial Park. Above all, his greatest pride and joy was his family.

He is survived by his beloved children, Nick (Sarah) and Matt (Chelsea); his cherished grandchildren, Camryn, Will, Parker, Hunter, Emerson, and Connor; his sister, Suzie (Dick); and his brother, Bob (Shirley).

He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Virginia; his longtime partner, Suan; and his brother, Dick.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, August 14, 2026, from 5:00-7:00pm at the Geneva VFW, where family and friends will gather to honor his memory, service, and enduring spirit.
