William Patrick Holden (Bill) Obituary

Conneaut, Ohio - William Patrick "Bill" Holden, 63, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 11, 2026 at his home.

Born November 10, 1962, the son of Patrick K. and Beverly J. (Brown) Holden, he grew up on the family farm in Pierpont and graduated from Edgewood High School in 1981. After graduation, he resided in Atlanta, GA, Vancover, BC, Quincy, IL, and Nashville, TN before returning to his roots in Ashtabula County in 2017.

In Quincy, Bill was an active facilitator in the Community Wide Study Circles on Race. While in Nashville, he was active in the Historic Edgefield Neighborhood Association, served as Board President of the Nashville Jazz Workshop, and was the Chair of Lambda ERG at Caterpillar Financial.

Upon returning to Ashtabula, Bill acquired Buccia Winery Bed and Breakfast and became a dedicated and impactful advocate for the local and regional Wine and Tourism Industry, serving on the Ashtabula County Visitors Bureau Board of Directors for the past 7 years.

Bill loved to support local artists and musicians, regularly featuring them at the winery. He was a member of 4-H in his youth and lifelong supporter and passionate Browns Backer.

Always the life of the party, a motivator, and a gifted public speaker, his energy was contagious. Always the peacemaker, Bill will be remembered as a loving family member, loyal friend, and huge part of the fabric of our community. He wanted the best for everyone.

His survivors include three children, Kyle (Emily), Ryan, and Kory Holden; three grandchildren, Myla, Breccan, and Logan; his siblings, Phil (Carolyn) Holden of Jefferson, Marty (Tina) Holden of North Kingsville, and Vicki Holden Miller of Jefferson; his father, Patrick Holden of Pierpont; and his companion, Kristen Leehan.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Beverly Holden.

Calling hours will be held from 4-7PM on Friday, May 15, 2026, at the Child-Williams-Ducro Funeral Home, 1071 SR 7, Pierpont. Funeral service will begin at 10AM on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at the funeral home with Stephanie Siegel, dear friend and director of the Ashtabula County Visitors Bureau, officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Pierpont. A luncheon will follow at Buccia Winery, 518 Gore Road, Conneaut from 2-4PM to raise a glass in Bill's memory.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pierpont Fund Scholarship, c/o Lois Morton, 129 Creek Road, Pierpont, OH 44082 or the Ohio Wine Producers, 1 South Broadway, Geneva, OH 44041 to establish a scholarship in his name. www.ohiowines.org
