Conneaut, Ohio - William R. Tinney passed from this life to eternal life on November 12, 2024. He was born in Conneaut, Ohio on June 1, 1945 to Carl and Connie Tinney. He graduated from Rowe High School in 1963 and was a machinist at the Pittsburgh and Conneaut Dock Company for thirty-eight years.
While attending KSU, he met his forever friend and love, Carol Nicholas, whom he married in January of 1968 at St. Mary's Church. They have three children: Lori Ann Webster, Trisha Ann Lawrie and Mark William Tinney. He loved attending his children's activities. He especially loved being his son's mat-side wrestling coach and watching his daughters' musical performances. He enjoyed taking his family on vacations across the states and riding roller coasters with his children every summer. He was very proud of his children and their accomplishments and as adults, he was happy to be their close friend.
Bill was a devoted husband, father and papa. He enjoyed walking on their country roads, solving crosswords, fishing, and music. He loved to perch fish with his wife on their boat, the Carol Ann. He enjoyed his Chrysler vehicles, especially his 1970 Dodge Dart and his Dodge Viper 2004 truck. He was a dragster at heart. He was known for his mechanical ability and immaculate care of his vehicles. He was a true fix-it man. He loved his home and life on South Ridge Road as well as his winter home in Brooksville, Florida, where he and Carol and dachshund, Heidi, spent their winters.
He is survived by his loving wife, Carol, their dear children Lori, Trisha and Mark, loved daughter-in-law and sons-in-law, Juliann Szasz Tinney, Casey Webster and David Lawrie, and their beloved grandchildren, Alexis (T.J.) McCumber, Clayton and Abigaile Webster, Christian and Ella Tinney, Cameron, Madison, and Callum William Lawrie, and great grandchildren Tommy, Theo, and Adaline McCumber. He is also survived by his brother, Chuck (Linda) Tinney, and sisters, Mimi Hodgkiss, and Margaret Perry and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Jack Tinney and Bob Tinney and sister Patty Shelker.
Bill was an active member of Corpus Chrisi Parish, where he was a Lector. He was a member of Conneaut Moose Lodge.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. Noon. at St. Frances Cabrini Church with Father Philip Miller of Corpus Christi Parish officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Conneaut.
